The Friends of Long Buckby Infant School (formerly PTA) brings together parents, teachers and staff at the school.  As well as helping to maintain close links between parents and teachers, the Friends aims to organise fundraising events to raise additional money for the school as a whole.

The Friends wants to support the school with funding that can make a difference to our children's education, and tries to organise fun and innovative events for children and their parents/carers.

During the past two years, the Friends has arranged to pay for the transport for school theatre trips and purchased several Vtech digital cameras and video cameras to enhance our children's learning experience.  It regularly runs fundraising events, such as after school discos (usually quite noisey but enjoyable for the children!).

The Friends biggest project to date has been the development of a 'Sensory Garden' in the school grounds.  This was a big task and, with the support of local businesses and the Buckby Feast, the results have exceeded expectations.  The children enjoyed being involved at each stage of development and feel proud of their achievements in contributing towards their own garden.

Friends members have helped organise and support community events, such as the Christmas Shopping night.  They worked closely with local shops, and the Junior and Pre-schools, as well as local Brownie and Girl Guide groups.
