Joy Greenwood - Co-opted Governor

Safeguarding, Child protection, Special Educational Needs/ Inclusion, E -Safety, Performance Management

Hello, I have been a co-opted governor since May 2016 with specific responsibility for Safeguarding, Child protection, Special Educational Needs/ Inclusion and E -Safety and I contribute to Headteacher Performance monitoring.

I moved from the North East to Long Buckby in 1988 and I am proud to say that my daughters benefitted from an excellent start to their education at both village schools.

I volunteered at LBIS in 2005 / 2006 before joining Guilsborough Academy Secondary school, where I have worked since in the Pastoral Support Team. We may have met if you have older children or you may have seen me around the village, being pulled along by 2 Airedale terriers.

My husband and I were always confident in trusting that Long Buckby Infant School was making every effort to nurture our girls' academic and social wellbeing and I decided to become a governor because I hope that I can use my knowledge and experience to contribute to the continuing excellent learning and caring environment of the school.
