Learning By Inspiring Success
“I shut my eyes in order to see.” – Paul Gauguin
“If I could say it in words there would be no reason to paint.” – Edward Hopper
In KS1 the national curriculum for art and design aims to ensure that all pupils:
Art and Design is an important part of the school curriculum because it encourages the development of imagination and inspires creative thinking, allowing children to generate ideas on their own or by discussing with others and find their own solutions for a given task. We aim to develop knowledge, understanding and an enjoyment of Art and Design. The planned curriculum for Art and Design at Long Buckby Infant School is structured with a focus on the progression of skills across the year groups. We aim to teach and develop specific skills in drawing, painting, printing, textiles, clay, ICT, collage and three dimensional work.
