Term 1 

In Literacy this term the children have enjoyed looking at the traditional tale 'The Three Little Pigs'.  They have looked at the story from the wolfs perspective and wrote an alternative story.  They loved learning about insturctions and following these to make cakes and biscuits for out Grandparents Afternoon.  They have also wrote some beautiful Autumn Poems, using similes and alliteration. 

In Maths the children have focused on place value, tens and units.  They have used this knowledge to the add and subtract two 2-digit numbers. 

In History the children have found out what school life was like in Victorian times and compared it to life in school today.  In Science they have looked at different habitats and which animals can survive in those places. In Art the children have used a variety of different tools to sketch.  They then applied their skills to produce a detailed observational drawing of a teddy bear.  

It has been a fun filled term.  A great start to Year 2!
